Mystery Rock?
Christopher Baker

My job takes me all kinds of places around here. One such location was around a dilapidated farm house where i found this little guy with only a small part sticking out of the dirt like a stepping stone.

Once he was washed off back at home, this came out to greet me.

So i am set that is a quartz formation. but some calcite is coming in a close second.

Mostly a feel like a smooth calcium build up.

Mose of 6+, anything metal left black scratches that could easly be brushed off

White scratches left behind on cement

Feel of soft quartz and some micro crystalline formations in the nooks.

24.3oz at 12.5cm x 10cm x 4cm

When wet w/ water, had a dark shadow behind the quartz?

I am not finding formations like this in what books I have, (few indeed) and closest thing im finding online is coral.

so leaving it up to the club... What do you think???
